About our COVID-19 Distance Leaning:

I miss my wonderful Gattenians, Ripplistas, and Conradians! While we are apart, I am working to make sure you still get the opportunities to learn all that a 5th Grader should know by the end of this year. Please use the CLA resources I have below, but know I am here if you have questions.

You each know how to log in to Google Classroom using your school account. If you have forgotten, remember it is your lunch#@classroom.tvschools.org and PW is abcd. I will post videos to this page regularly to explain new concepts, send you links for movies and websites you would enjoy, and just send my love.

I have enabled your ability to comment in Google Classroom. Be responsible with this privilege. :)

I get notifications on my phone when you ask questions, and I will try my best to answer you as quickly as I can.

*PLEASE SEE MY TAB FOR CLA's  under Mrs Gatten's Language Arts Classes TO FIND COPIES OF EACH WEEK'S ACADEMIC CHECKLIST on this website*

   Much love,

   Mrs G.

ELA Assignments for the week of April 27-May 1, 2020:
LANGUAGE ARTS: Assignments & Instructions
(Mrs. Gatten: lgatten@tvschools.org)

1. Read your AR book for 20 minutes and log on to AR and quiz on anything you have completed.

Notice I have added PDF’s of a couple of books to Google Classroom, if you would like to read them.

Also, There are also several online sites  where you can read books. See the new posting in Google Classroom with MANY online book sources for you to explore. Please quiz on the books you have read

2.  States Research Project -In a folder in Google Classroom, you will find a drive folder containing various states' posters. Whichever state you choose to research, choose that PDF and download or print it.  Complete all sections neatly, and color where there are flags/emblems etc. Make sure you complete both pages of research and keep careful track of your sources on your Works Cited Page.

Remember - Google is a method of finding websites/sources. You must visit the actual websites to get your information and write down the names of the websites or articles you use on your Works Cited Page. NO Wikepedia! :)

If you do your project on paper, you can mount it on construction paper or cardboard, side by side. Just take a picture of your poster and Citations page and email them to me. This is, for most, probably the easiest and most fun way to do it - coloring by hand.

If you choose to do your projects online, you will need to be skilled at Doc Hub.You can share finished PDF documents with me from there.

Here is the folder that can also be found in Google Classroom:
