Fun times in First Grade
Hi, my name is Selina Emerson. I am a first grade teacher at Dresden Elementary. This is my eleventh year teaching and I am thrilled to continue my passion at Dresden Elementary. Before coming to Dresden I taught kindergarten for five years in Fayetteville, NC. While I do miss being only an hour from the beach it is wonderful to be back in the great Buckeye Nation!
I am a 1999 graduate from Tri-Valley High School. I earned my BA degree from Ohio University and my MA degree from The University of North Carolina.
I have three wonderful nephews. Ethan who will be in the eighth grade, Zaiden who is a second grader at Dresden Elementary and Zane who is now 4!
Thank you for stopping by and be sure to check out all of the great stuff in the First Grade folder. If you have any questions or concerns throughout the year please contact me!!
INFORMATION ABOUT SCHOOL CLOSING DUE TO COVID-19
3/24/2020 I have emailed every parent about information regarding class materials to be completed during this closing. If you have not received an email please email me to let me know. At this point in time students should have completed 3 Continuous Learning Assignments for every category. This week they will need to complete 3 more in every category for a total of 6 Reading, 6 Writing, and 6 Math. I have also emailed extra activities, online resources, and online programs students can continue to access. Again, if you haven't received the emails or need further assistance with accessing information please email me and I will be happy to help. I will update and email when I find out more information for next week. Thank you all for everything and take care!
