MS/HS Band Concert

 

The Middle School/High School Winter Band Concert has been rescheduled for Wednesday, December 18th, 7pm in the TVHS Cafetorium.  Band students need to report at 6:30.  Join us to celebrate the Christmas season with music provided by our band members.


The Boomerang Guy is Coming to TVMS!

On Friday, December 13th the students at TVMS will be treated to a special assembly in recognition of our designation as a "School of Promise."  Chet Snouffer, a world champion boomerang thrower, will be presenting this action packed school assembly.  Chet also makes his own boomerangs and has them available for purchase.  If you would like to buy one for your student, click HERE to download information to return with your student Friday.  Be sure to ask your child about the assembly when they get home Friday afternoon.  It's an awesome show!


Honor Society/Leo Club Canned Food Drive

 

 

The TVMS Leo Club and TVMS Student Council  encouraged and challenged their peers to donate to Christ's Table and the Salvation Army for our canned food drive.  Wow, did our students rise to the occasion!  Over 5,050 non-perishable food items were donated.  The winning homerooms were:  1st place, Mrs. Missy Smith.  2nd place, Mrs. Kozlowski.  3rd place, Mrs. Prouty.  4th place, Mrs. Thornsley.  Congratulations to the entire student body and thank you so much for your generous donations!  TVMS Rocks!!

The Middle School office will open for the 2014-15 school year, Monday, August 4th, 7am - 2pm.  If you have a new student to register, please don't forget to bring the following paperwork:

Honor Society

Current Honor Society members are selling raffle tickets for the chance to win an opportunity to be a player, coach or cheerleader in the annual Student/Staff Basketball Game on May 2nd.  Tickets are being sold, during lunch, at a cost of $1 per chance or 6 chances for $5 Tickets will only be sold thru Friday, April 25th.

TVMS 8th Graders will be taking a field trip to Mid-East Career Center on Monday, November 25th.  Students will leave school at 9:00 and return at 1:00. Please return permission slips to the office asap and don't forget to send a packed lunch with your student that day.

Seventh and eighth grade students will be taking the spring Ohio Achievement practice tests March 18th, 19th and 20th.  These tests are very important and a good indicator of areas we need to work on to help students achieve their full potential.  Please try not to schedule appointments or have unnecessary absences during testing.   Thank you for your help!

7th Grade Orientation

7th Grade Orientation is scheduled for Thursday, August 14th, 6:30 - 8:00.  Students and parents will meet in the gymnasium at 6:30 for a message from our principal.  Afterwards, students may pick up their schedules and walk the halls to find their lockers and classrooms.  You may also pay school fees that evening and load lunch money on to student accounts.

Middle School fees are:

$25 technology fee
$7 science fee
   (You may write one check for both fees)

*Lunch money should be written on a seperate check*

Grade Cards

Final grade cards will be mailed home Thursday, May 29th.  If your student has unpaid school fees, you will receive a notice of the dollar amount owed.  You may stop in to the office until June 6th to pay the balance and receive your child's grade card.


Accelerated Reader

 

On April 16th, students that achieved their 3rd quarter Accelerated Reader goal will be rewarded with a trip to Cinemark to see "Divergent."  Your student's English teacher has passed out a permission slip to them if they qualified.  You can click HERE to read additional information about this field trip.  *Please don't forget to send a lunch with your student, unless you requested a sack lunch from the Middle School kitchen.*

Piano Recital

Calling all music lovers.  There is a free, public piano recital  at Secrest Auditorium, Saturday, April 5th at 7pm.  The pianist is Dr. Harsha Aberyaratne a renowned concert pianist.  The event is open to the public and sponsored by the Thursday Music Club and Secrest Auditorium. 


DC Parent Meeting

Mark your calendars:  Mandatory DC Parent Meeting, April 29th at 6pm, Tri-Valley High School Cafetorium.  Final arrangements and paperwork will be handed out and discussed.  If you have an 8th grade student attending the DC trip, PLEASE make sure a parent attends this meeting. *Note; this meeting is at the High School*


Student Council Dance

Coming to the Middle School gymnasium, Friday, May 2nd:  the long awaited, much talked about, Student/Staff Basketball Game!  Tickets will be available for purchase, in home rooms, April 28th - May 2nd at a cost of $2.  Half-time activities and lots of fun will get us prepared for the following week of OAA tests.

This is a fun, "real world" activity for all 8th grade students to be held May 12th, 8:00 - 2:00 in the MS gymnasium.  Thank you to our parents for volunteering to help us.  We now have enough volunteers to staff the entire day.  Be sure to ask your eighth grade student what they learned, when they get home Monday evening.

The Tri-Valley Marching Band will be performing in the Frazeysburg American Legion parade on May 25th at 1:30 and the Dresden Memorial Day Parade, May 26th at 9am. Please come out to support our veterans and our band members Memorial Day weekend.

Advertising Winners

7th Grade English students, of Miss Burris, recently completed an advertising project.  Students were challenged to create a business card, postcard design and advertisement for Ditto Boutique in Dresden.  The winning business card designs were created by:  Faith Reeves, Dustin Dilts and Sayge Collopy.  The winning postcard design came from:  Wyatt Riggle.  The top advertising award went to:  Hannah Worthington.  Great job to these creative students!  Also, a special thanks to Tracey Tripp for allowing students to put their writing and technology skills to work for a real world project.  The winning designs will be used for advertising for Ditto!

Ecology Club News

Dr. Robert Curry will be visiting the TVMS Ecology Club on Friday, March 28th at 3:30.  He will give a presentation on archaeology and paleontology.  Parents, students and community members are invited to attend and are encouraged to bring any Native American artifacts or fossils to have identified.  The talk will be in Room 101 and is scheduled to last roughly one hour.  Pictured is a small sampling of Dr. Curry's personal collection.  Join us for an interesting, fact filled afternoon!

NFHS Award of Excellence

The National Federation of High School's National Award of Excellence is awarded each year to an outstanding student who has displayed exemplary sportsmanship, ethics and integrity.  This award is presented to the student whom has exhibited qualities that embody good citizenship, good moral character and good sporting behavior.  This year's NFHS National Award of Excellence winner is Alyssa Shawger.  Congratulations Alyssa!


Archie Griffin Award Winners

TVMS recently awarded the OHSAA's prestigious Archie Griffin Sportsmanship Award to one male and one female athlete.  The award, named for the two-time Heisman Trophy winner, is awarded to outstanding athletes that promote sportsmanship in their school and community.  These students are excellent role models to their fellow students in displaying sportsmanship and integrity both on the field and in the classroom.  We are pleased to announce Greg Nolder and Emily Untied as our recipients this year.  Great job Greg and Emily!!!


LEO CLUB ACTIVITIES - The Tri-Valley Leo Club will serve hot chocolate on the lawn of the Frazeysburg Township Building (on the square by the gazebo) during trick-or-treat, October 31st from 5:30 - 7:00.  Meet Becky Vansickle at 5:15 and wear your Leo shirt.

Tri-Valley Middle School held its annual student-staff charity basketball game Friday, May 2nd with proceeds going towards the Tri-Valley Schools Endowment Scholarship Fund. TVMS Honor Society Induction

 

Tri-Valley Middle School Honor Society Induction will be held Tuesday, May 13th, 1pm in the MS gymnasium.  A cookie and punch reception will be held immediately afterward in the cafetorium.  All family members, and invited guests, are welcome to join us in honoring these new inductees and current members.

Open Enrollment & Intra District

Open Enrollment and Intra District Forms

for the 2014-2015 school year

are now available online!

Parents/Guardians must submit an Open Enrollment Application or Intra District Form for each school aged child, each year. Applications can be obtained through the website or at any Tri-Valley School building as they will NOT be mailed to individual homes. All applications are due to the Tri-Valley District Office by April 1, 2014. You will be notified of your child’s status my mid July.

Intra District is for Tri-Valley students who wish to attend a different TV elementary building.

 

Open Enrollment is for students who reside in another school district and wish to attend school at Tri-Valley.


8th Grade Promotion

 

 

The eighth grade promotion ceremony will be held Tuesday, May 20th at 6pm in the Middle School Gymnasium.  Dress clothes, for students, are appreciated.


Sports Physicals

 

OHSAA sports physical forms are available by clicking on the "School Forms" section of our webpage.  If your student is getting a physical for a sport this summer, you will need to take this with you.  Your doctor will also need pages one and two completed prior to your appointment.
